Totally agree with you! Tip: be careful about participation in vital signs focus groups if they try to encourage you to do that. A number of us on my team were basically forced to participate in them for the first time due to a lack of volunteers. Despite being civil during the meetings, almost everyone in attendance was mentioning the same kinds of things that are being discussed on this site. We were told flat-out that the information goes to managers who also reach out to senior leadership, so it is not really anonymous as they have ways of figuring out who said what. We came up with a number of ideas to handle some of these issues, but were immediately met with frequent pushback from the manager responsible for our group. It was clear they did not want to hear things like additional compensation for employees, better health insurance/benefits, or really anything that involved increased costs to the company. Surprise, most of us from our group were then laid off before we could complete our vital signs focus group. They had to postpone holding vital signs focus group meetings since most of the participants were no longer employees. UHG only cares about more and more money for the higher-ups - that's it and it has been getting much worse. No employment stability whatsoever!
