Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Honeywell Must be preparing for a sale of AEROSPACE

Think about all the consolidation, layoffs , Cost reduction and lost contracts. It is clear that Honeywell Aerospace can no longer innovate because they have gutted all the engineering talent. They must acquire business and slap a Honeywell label on. We have outsourced supply chain to the lowest cost supplier. Our products are manufactured in Czech Republic, Mexico, Penang and India. The US head count is restricted and managed down to the belly button. There is no way the remaining talent less managers will be able to resolve the technical issues with manufacturing and qualifying aerospace hardware> It doesn't even matter because Honeywell will spin Aerospace and never be on the hook to produce the un-manufacturerable products they have sold customers.

The new engineers coming to the aerospace world are bright or they would not be engineers. They are book smart but have zero practical experience. The best engineers in the past were the ones that understood the process. That my friend comes with time and working with experienced floor employees. In my experience management and engineers do not want any advice from the experienced worker. All they want is yes men or women. They want to hear that it is a great idea, Instead of what is needed to do to fix the problem from past experience. Money will not be spent on fixable probLems in aerospace manufacturing. We are a software company remember. Our C.E.O. wants nothing to do with manufacturing. It is the kiss of death and the beginning of the end. It will take time to k–l the industry. There are thousands of honeywell APU's in the sky to be serviced. Boeing is engineering there own APU and will slowly remove Honeywell from the market place.

It is amazing how Honeywell can't forecast the incoming hardware when asked by employees to management. Then 2 months ago honeywell site director for Sky harbor gets up in front of his beaten down employees and states that there will be a slowdown. He basically threatened everyone with a layoff and slow down stating he has seen people standing around and talking. Total B.S. , the only people that stand in the isles and b.s. ing is management. Gadd is a hatchet man for Baloney. From my point of view, a layoff will happen just before Thanksgiving. Thus- no match , holiday pay.

Something HW hasn't quite understood. Age and wisdom security seems to only apply at higher levels. You know, the ones where you just have to talk and blame others for short comings. In the real world, most people when they seek guidance look to an elder or mentor. If you were in a car accident in the middle of no where. Ask if you want the newbie showing up, or the seasoned Paramedic? Yes there might be new technologies coming in. But take that concept with no prior knowledge and go try and build a car, see what happens on the first high speed corner. The older wisdom also knows that you can't BS another wise person, but you can entice the young to drink the Kool Aid.

Yes, Corporate wants to divest AEROSPACE but..... They can't! Wall Street said NO! I'm not kidding.

" (Reuters) - U.S. industrial conglomerate Honeywell International Inc (HON.N) announced plans to increase its annual divided by 12 percent on Friday as it resists pressure from investors to part with its aerospace unit. "

What I remember reading was a article where the CEO, D or D saying that the major investors had a large stake of money tied up in Aerospace's future growth ("HAH") and did not want the divestiture to happen.

You see folks, we were suppose to merge with United Technologies (https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/09/honeywell-prepares-to-spin-off-businesses-sources.htmland) they (The masters of the universe) had no other plan. So now its just brutal efficiency. Strap your self in or pull the ejection handle, its going to be a bumpy ride!

Meh, no real evidence of any sale on the horizon. I see plenty of new engineers coming onboard. The idea that these new people are less talented than the generation now leaving is myopic.
Layoffs will continue until honeywell finds new products to sell. Simple.
