UP is eating it on Indeed too

With the 11% (and dropping) CEO approval rating and only 21% of employees willing to recommend working at UP on Glassdoor, Indeed held out some hope for UP with slightly higher approval ratings. Now, even their Indeed rating is starting to tank, down to 3.1/5 from a month ago. It's only as high as it is there because people rate the pay at 4/5. They're at 2.5/5 for everything else.

Que the people telling us how the entire internet is lying about UP being a lousy place to work.

@5mvo: There's a difference between working long hours, such as the occasional 50 hour week for an important project, and having a company take over your life in the way that UP tries to do, typically for 60+ hours per week, every week.

As a degreed and salaried professional with extensive corporate experience, I can tell you that the working culture at UP is, to put it politely, an outlier.

I hate to burst anyones bubble but most salaried positions at companies are filled with working long hours. It isn’t just UP. I’ve worked elsewhere. This is nothing new.

The UP will continue to eat sh–, until it turns itself around. Indeed and Glassdoor are actual website that corporate America sees. If Fritz makes it to retirement, then he's got one hell of an uphill battle coming. He's destroyed this company. People are voluntarily quitting now, instead of being furloughed. The UP is listed as the number 1 worst place to work. A steady increase of major derailments. Fatalities have gone up, shipper complaints have gone up. Lawsuits have gone up. That has to look bad on his part!

Pay isn’t even that good anymore. And if you take a salaried position, lol get ready you’re bout to earn that check with 40 extra hours of unpaid overtime. You’ll make less than the people you’re supposedly in charge of but you get a gold star to out on your chest.
