Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Merchandisers

So everyone on the floor is now a merchandiser. They expect everyone to know how to perform all tasks from clothing to jewelry. And they want you to learn it by watching the training CBL's and they expect you to shadow people, who don't have enough time to get their work done, but corporate thinks tart we all can get trained. No so much. On the wire today I read where they want merchandisers to get ready for the holidays, specifically jewelry. They want people to watch videos on restocking and doing a special order. This is utterly ridiculous. Jewelry is a controlled area. You can't have everyone jumping in that department. I would love to say we have honest people, however in the past that has proven not to be true.
Thoughts anyone?

If you are missing a break, you are in violation of federal law. It is up to you to take it and not management to make you take it... Not that management would make anyone take it.

Things are definitely going downhill fast. We hire people, but then we only seem to have 1 or 2 registers open at one time. Cart runners cannot keep up with the carts and we are not a busy club. We can't find floor partners to help members load heavy merchandise, so we end up lifting along with the member...do I hear worker's comp claim? Door greeters are all old and some have medical issues and all they do is complain about their breaks and lunches not being on time. Some members get irate at having to show their cards at the door again. I get the feeling we are being set up to fail. We have all these MSS', a total of five and only one is doing a good job. The front end cashiers is full of awful people who like to gossip and be mean to others. Nobody seems to care about "Respect for the individual" anymore. Sad...

All day long I hear "member needs assistance in electronics". I want to say "nobody knows anything about electronics because we eliminated our experts. Same goes for associates needing assistance with HR issues. What are they covering in orientation? I feel sorry for the new associates. They don't know anything about policies or procedures.

CBLS are their way of covering their own butt just like the Wire! They can do anything they want to you and YOU should know that because they put it on the Wire or in a CBL that YOU should have done! Not their fault that you didn’t know! Just sayin

The company doesn't care if we have honest associates. We don't have AP any more so who's going to investigate theft. Take what you want nobody's watching.

A phrase that galls me to my soul is " Has to be done before you go home ...) !!! When 12:30 comes I am going home !!! It is not our fault there are not enough people to do the work !! What in the ever lovin heck do the middle day people do ?? 4 Am people are supposed to have all mixed freight stocked and all skids off the floor plus all run and pod changes done by 12:30. and it has to be done before you go home or else !!! When this all started we were told that what we could not get done would be picked up and finished by those whom come in after us. The skids we can not finish were to be put on the hardlines backside end caps. But...the world is going to end if a skid is left there !!...........I could go on and on and on....we are circling the drain pretty people , circling the drain..............

CBL!!! No one is doing CBL's. How could we? There are so few of us on the floor as it is. Nothing would get done if one of us wasted time doing CBL's. As it is we lose out on our last break.

CBl'S??? Who has time for that??? We have a long list on overdue CBL's. There is never a good time for this, you can't do them in the morning and much less before you leave cuz management is also barking do this and that before you leave.
