Thread regarding Fry's Electronics layoffs

Fry's is transitioning to the same business model as Staples and Office Depot

After all the rumors and gossips, official information is out from several Vendors. Fry's is transitioning to the same business model as Staples and Office Depot. Vendors will send inventory in consignment and will get paid as their inventory is sold. Vendors to keep full control of their inventory and they will take advantage of Fry's premium locations in the west coast. Fry's own most of their real estate. The business model is changing just in time for the holidays and inventory should be arriving in selected Fry's stores within the coming weeks!

“I just bought a 75" samsung TV, and I got it for less than best buy... I.m reading posts from angry ex-employees that were probably fired for incompetence...guess what...the only thing i need is a good price and a shopping cart to carry my merchandise...and Fry's provided me with both.”

Its a good thing you mentioned it was a samsung TV like a good, paid PR bot. They literally have only Samsung all the other vendors wont loan/give them their business. Congrats on your singularly limited option buy.

Also, get educated. The company dropped 80% of its hours 6 months ago. Thats not a made up number they have/had a thing called coverage, which they dont bother to look at anymore since its a joke, yet 6 months ago it was the biggest thing. Most departments sit around 20% coverage down from a goal of 100%. Associates were let go left and right, full time associates who support families were dropped to part time, and part timers were given 4 hours a week or 0 hours. There are literally some associates still on roll, that dont even know they still technically work for the company.

But yea those ones fired probably for incompetence....lol.

Two words to describe your comment. Ignorant (obviously), and insensitive.

This whole concept of going to consignment is BS... Fry's already had a reputation for slow walking payments to vendors. Every vendor knows that Fry's will pull the same stunt whether the goods are 'consigned' or 'paid for'

Fry's can't keep its shelves stocked, but apparently they can afford to hire PR bots.

Frys still wants us to "fall into savings" (har-har) while everyone else is advertising AND preparing for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

You can't sell what you don't have, no matter how low the price.

LOL! Well the OfficeMax/Depot and Staples that I've been to have way more stock in store than the two Fry's here in Atlanta and probably all Fry's combined. Heck, even OfficeMax/Depot when closing down stores had more stock than what Fry's does currently. Keep dreaming and drinking the koolaid.

I mean it’s like two weeks to Black Friday and the store I just went to was emptier than ever. Back stock area empty. One cashier. So yeah unless they are rolling in trucks nonstop to stock up the Black Friday ad will consist of water, fake perfumes, and refurb 3 year old HP laptops.

Fake desperate attempt to keep doors open past black Friday and then close forever. Fake news.

This post is obviously not written by a vendor. Its very obviously written by some manager or higher in the company.

This is false information from the get go. Official information is out??? Lol. The “official spokesperson” for Frys already stated this about two months ago. If your going to make a fake post at least get your information straight.

Speaking of your “new” information, since it was already stated Frys is going consignment a while back, we now see the results of “new vendors” since its been months already. That is to say no new vendors going consignment unless you count the no-name brands that give you ten items of one thing that are barely selling.

Oh and the official spokesperson also stated the same thing two months ago-new product coming!!!! Yay!! Guess what?!! Theres no new product this is a stringing lie thats been repeated for well over half a year.

Hows the receiving looking? Hiring more people for all this product coming in? Answer: Nope. Getting more cashiers for this anticipated influx of product? Answer: Nope. Did associates get more hours or anticipate more coming? Answer: Nope. Are you losing more positions over time or are your associates slowly dwindling away even though you already cut most of them? Are they bringing management positions back so people still working for the company have something more then a dead end job with no advancement options?

Sorry to burst your bubble but Im just being realistic. Believing honeyed lies from your own company eventually starts to taste bitter and eventually becomes a joke, especially the more its repeated. They are literally convincing you that cutting your right arm off will be beneficial because you'll learn to use your left arm better.

I mean, think about it. Your actually stating your going to the business model of other, dying businesses, and bragging about it. Thats how duped you are.
