Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

FREE TURKEYS FOR ALL SAM'S CLUB EMPLOYEES!! THIS YEAR ONLY!!

So co-worker told me we're supposedly going to get free turkey this year. Two questions.

  1. Is this going to be like a little package of sliced turkey or an actual whole turkey?
  2. Because they're giving us "free" ANYTHING, how many of our hours are going to be cut in the following weeks/months to make up for this? Are they going to cut them by 2 hours a week? 5?

If anyone has any insight, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hey. We got a ham. Costco employees got a Turkey and a ham. From what I read in an other article. Wow ,Billion dollar company. Reminds of the Christmas Scrooge movie. However, I'm sure the top people will have all the fixings.

I've been on APPROVED medical leave since June, prob till Feb. My friend has been on medical leave since Oct. She got a call saying to come in and get her free turkey before they're gone. I told her to please get mine while she was there. NOW TRUST ME, I COULD GIVE A FLYING FLIP ABOUT A TURKEY. I just wanted to see if someone would be an a$$hole about it. Guess what, I was right. She was told no. I ended up getting a turkey, but not an explanation about it yet. I can't wait to hear it. I am only taking the time to write this so you can take it and use your imagination about how they take ANYTHING and use it against anybody, no matter how much you've done for them out of friendship, kinship, teamwork or anything else if not just obligation. THESE ARE THE TYPE OF PEOPLE YOU WORK FOR!!!! Many of you have more options than me, please learn before it's too late.

Our club does not have employee of the month nor did they ever give us gifts at Christmas party. Our party was their gift to us.

Look it up on the wire, not quite a gift. That’s why they stop giving out gifts to associates at parties and your associate of the month is taxed. It’s all a tax break to them

Got mine today! 15 lb.
Thank you Sam's Club I really appreciate my turkey. My family will too. Also thanks for all you do do for your associates. We will get through all these changes. I also appreciate the co pays on doctor visits for the upcoming year! It does show you care. I've been needing to get some health issues looked at but couldn't afford to go to the doctor due to my $300 credit gets wiped away everytime I go to the ER.
Thank you for the raises too.
I do trust that we are getting back to taking care of our associates.

Yeah free Turkey . . . and yet another year with my days off split up so that I get one day off early in the week on Monday and then only one for Thanksgiving and no other time off can be approved. Nice way to spend time with the family. Thanks Sam's.

So after eating my share of turkey. I will sleep and in my blissful slumber I will be able to forget about the fact that in 3 months I won't be seeing my old Samshare of $3200.

Because a $25 turkey is way better than getting any kind of decent Samshare.

"As of 2017, the IRS allows a $14,000 annual exclusion amount when it comes to taxable gifts. In other words, if a gift of money or property is valued at $14,000 or less, it does not need to be reported to the IRS and no gift tax will need to be paid.Jan 9, 2019"

Stop spreading lies, you LIAR!

Don’t forget to fill out your tax form for the gift over $1.25, you have to pay taxes on it.

Some of these people could win the lottery and they would find something to complain about. Don't get me wrong I do not agree with most of the changes presented to us and I have the option to take it or leave it but im still here and working it out. After 20 plus years I just cannot go find another job out there making what I make. Yea I know everybody on here that has quit has found a better paying job but im afraid I make quiet a bit more than 11 bucks and hour and I have a mortgage and not living at home with my parents.
