Its not being shuttered. It is being sold to a private firm and will re open doing the repairs under a sub contract. All workers currently employed there and laid off there will have first shot at jobs at a significant less pay. Others will be allowed to apply for other work within the NS System

U visited JLS twice. I couldn't believe how horrible the Machinists were. They knew nothing.
I hope they don't shutdown as that's most of the work we get. They are Job security for us with bottom jobs and running repair block swaps due to their engines self destructing. Between poor craftsmanship and ge power assemblies what a prime setup for failure.
