We have to remember the big fat cheeses get a lot of compensation in the form of company stock options. Does that lead them to make decisions for the good of the company & employees in the long term or to get the stock price temporarily inflated so those greedy non-human leaches can cash their chips in & move on for their next blood draw.
Is it me or does Bill Ford remind you of Forest Gump!

Layoffs until the merger.

I dont think Hackett is out of hot water until he gets the stock price back up. The only thing the family cares about is the bottom line. Products, quality and employee morale mean nothing to Billy and the cousins.

Hacketts safe - really safe after this "Mach E launch"

He is looking really good in the eyes of Billy.

At an all-hands meeting 1,2 months ago, our LL2 stated that FCSD IT headcount for 2020 will be flat. Does that mean that there wont be SRD2? No, but I am a little less worried than I was in May. My gut feel is that things will get better once the family gives Jimmy his walking papers. Stock price closed at 8.89 yesterday. When Fields was canned, the price was right around 11.00..... it wont be too much longer before Jimmy "wants to spend more time with his family".

Offers or not it still 9 months pay for 20+ years with the company.

Count me in either way.

35+ year loyal employees can eliminate thoughts of “packages”. These packages were eliminated when the 35+ year loyal employee no longer accumulates pension benefits. That is (y)our incentive to depart.

Open positions mean nothing. There were internal and external positions posted during SRD. Some of the people released had the skills needed to fill those open positions but still experienced people were released while new people were being hired. They need to figure out the appropriate headcount so that people can put it behind them and focus on their work. It’s hard to stay focused when constantly worried about your job. It’s an unnecessary distraction.

It's no secret in our office. Management has announced that there would be cuts in 2020 for sure. Hopefully it will be with retirement incentives.

There are so many open req's in our group. They are being selective but need a awful lot of people.

This for true product development. Not walking around with a Franklin Planner talking about last weekends social events all week with a latte in your hand.

I heard the same thing. As said below the deadwood should be safe. I have seen a few of the cuts over the years. The first got people who had recently been promoted. No deadwood there. The second claimed to go after poor performers but the ones I saw walked out had recently pi$$ed someone off. No deadwood there. The last seemed to go after people approaching a pension milestone and people who had a salary higher than their peers. There could have been deadwood in the pension group but if your salary is higher than your peers you have probably been getting really good reviews for several years. That’s the opposite of deadwood. What makes people so nervous is that no one knows how the victims are selected. Excellent performance doesn’t save you and poor performance doesn’t put you on the list. It appears that average performers who haven’t angered anyone recently are the safest based on past eliminations.

SRD2 will trim another 12 percent. The Deadwood will be safe.
