Who said vacation? The OP was referencing work related travel.

Just because you have vacation scheduled doesn't mean you are "safe". I had PTO scheduled for November and December. A week after I came back from my November trip I was laid off.
Just because you have trips planned does not mean you are safe. They can quickly and easily be cancelled within the travel portal.
A friend of mine was a provider advocate and told while on site with a customer. He finished out the day.
