Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Xerox has no viable 3D metal offering

Vader was purchased, then castrated, with no investment since acquisition. If HPQ is thinking that would be a benefit of purchasing XRX, they will be ahem surprised.

Thoughts?

Serious people? They paid a dad and his son a few $M as fake showpiece. Y’all know the “Tech Powerhouse”? It was really “flip-my-firm” 101. Paint the house, but don’t repair the roof, don’t even think about fixing plumbing! ....Stop RDE. Fake Vadar 3D boy toy. Show better margins. flip it.

Problem now ? They’ve gone too long and risk exposed without supply, They stopped RDE then told Fuji and hp to essentially drop dead.

Ace card left is Carlos can force unnatural M&A. But if he dumps the stock at $39....Xerox is left completely exposed with massive gaps in RDE/product.

It’s blatantly obviously that those involved with the decision to acquire Vader were absolutely clueless as to what they were doing. It seems as though they had a very limited comprehension of the 3D market and technology. Any costs for this blunder should be deducted from John V 2019 & 2020 salary and/or bonuses.

Zero viable, sellable products coming from the Vader window dressing purchase. Where can we find the product in the Xerox catalog? Can’t.

Keeping the Vader family on the payroll is not counted as investment in my eyes.

"with no investment since acquisition"

That's simply not true.

  • qxr: agree on all points. Seems an acquisition would have made a lot more sense than going into debt to buy a company facing similar issues at XRX. Whether that acquisition would be metal a.m. or something else remains a good question.

The output resolution seems poor. Lots of splatter that requires post processing. Perhaps if they printed into a dense substrate they could dampen that affect.

There is some serious competition in metal am. Stuff with micron precision that seems more functional. Who knows, maybe they will buy a company with more mature technology at nextform
