Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Lots of rumors about call takers being offered HBA or severance in January. Anyone know anything?

@128aLsT8-pcop I was referring the statement of no hba headcount increase. That is false.

@128aLsT8-oqde to say what 128aLsT8-lfoc is false is pretty naive. New hire classes, interviews, job postings etc has never stopped Verizon from laying people off before. If you have been with this company for any length of time you would know Verizon has always "stepped over a dollar to pick up a penny" had the old sang goes.

@128aLsT8-lfoc considering they have 6 new hire classes going in HBA that started end of October your comment is false. There are plans to hire at minimum 200 HBA reps. With the new schedules that just came out the number of people threatening to quit because the schedules were absolute trash more hiring will happen to replace what is lost. On average for every new hire class, almost 2/3rds of that class quits or is fired before a year with the company, whether it be burn out or poor attendence, probably directly correlated to c-appy schedules. Who wants to work both Saturday and Sunday and get Tuesdays and Wednesdays off? People aren't feeling a work life balance and it takes far too long to to move up in tenure where you can get a schedule where you at least have 1 of the weekend days off. The company decided that people would prefer to have 2 days off together than split days off, hence now about 1/2 of the shifts available require people to work both weekend days, for those with children that simply doesn't work.

I sit around the finance team and I heard that there is a HUGE budget shortfall in care and there is a looming wireless/wireline customer service consolidation project that is set to activate “phase 1” in Q1. Expect at least 300 headcount reduction. No hba headcount increase.

Heard from a reliable source that pa goals will only have two metrics. 7Day and RPC. The reason behind these two goals is to eliminate has many people as possible so they close the centers. #6Billion left to save by Jan 21.
