To the people complaining about warranty of their thermostat. The thermostat was probably out of warranty and you think you're special because you work for Honeywell. You're just another customer, deal with it and buy a new one. Don't complain about the warranty when it's 5+ past the warranty expiration.

Yes, Honeywell will not honor their warranty on thermostats you buy yourself. This just happened to me. I sent it in after the display died and was told they would do nothing, not even send it back because it wasn't bought by an installer.

Why would anyone do business with a company that treats it's customers, suppliers and employees so badly? I hope I get RIFed before they take away Severance.

That makes sense - boycott Honeywell products. That way sales go down and RIFs increase. Posters on this site are some of the dumbest people around. Wish Honeywell would RIF all of you as you are too stupid to work here.

By the way, if you buy a Honeywell thermostat and install it yourself,
even if you buy it as an employee and bought it at the company store,
they will not honor the warranty.

This happened to me personally.

You must pay a professional installer to install it in order to get any warranty at all.

The fact that the Honeywell thermostats are sold at do-it-yourself stores like Home Depot and Lowes and other similar stores doesn't matter, they won't honor the warranty.

The modern high-tech thermostats have thin delicate flex print cables for internal connection that are easily damaged as the thermostats are built by untrained, beleaguered, poorly paid, third world subcontractors to Honeywell.

Good Luck rolling the dice on your expensive thermostat with no warranty !

Now I know not to buy that brand name ever again, either.
