Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Christmas, New Year's, and Sam's Club

The Holidays are traditionally the time of year where we all step back, reflect on that for which we are thankful, and make resolutions to improve ourselves and our lives for the upcoming new year and it's promise of a fresh new start and a better life.

Presidential candidates like to ask us if we are better off now than we were 4 years ago. I would likewise challenge each of us to step back and ask ourselves if we are better off now than we were a year ago, or two years ago, or even 5 years ago. Hopefully on a personal level, most of us are in a decidedly better place than we have been in the past. However, it is highly doubtful that any employees of this company who live outside of the sewer of Bentonville, Arkansas feel good about their job, their job security, or the future of their current position.

This company has decided to eliminate any of us who remain who have worked their way up the ladder and now have earned a higher level of pay and/or PTO. Each of us needs to step back and ask ourselves if the company is still worthy of our time and loyalty.....not to mention our health. While there is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, it is important to note that the company is clearly hell-bent on ridding itself of anybody and everybody who has acquired much over the minimum compensation and/or PTO levels. At some point, they will make your life a living hell until you either leave of your own accord or are not so gently led off the premises.

I truly wish all of you the best in your future. I do hope that each of us will take the time to evaluate their personal circumstances and consider their options to make the best possible future for themselves and for their families. I trust that if you do so honestly, many of you will find your way out of this company and on to a happier and brighter future.

Opportunity is out there. Go find it.

Happy New Year!

I agree, Sams Club only cares about the bottom line! Not the Members or its employees. After ten years at Sams, I made a New Year resolution to pay off my credit cards and to get a new job.

Amen- it’s sad to tell people that I made 22.00 an hour the same 22.00 that I made eleven years ago. I’m just glad that I’m a female and not the money maker in my family. I’ll do my time until it’s time to retire. I know 22.00 dollars was good paid 11 years ago but not now. Not when your paying new team leaders 18 it took me 10 plus years to get there. I would never ask any person to work for this company NEVER. I still look for a new job every day . Best of luck to all that stays
