Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

How many locomotives are they planning on storing?

200 locomotives being stored equalls to 100 mechanics being laid off. Unless they close another shop. Where will these layoff of employees be located? Any signs of shops eliminating?

Well they got plenty of money to waste sending the big boy all over the country so it doesn’t seem like they’re too serious about the whole PSR thing.

They are being "stored" online in consists... and being utilized when other power in the consist fails enroute...which is often.

It doesn’t necessarily mean machinists are being furloughed, it could be a combination of electricians, mso and machinists but let’s hope it’s top heavy management that gets their aaasss wiped this time

Now they are saying .8 employee per locomotive. So 200 would be 160 employees.
