Just a holiday reminder

Just a reminder to people who are worried about being laid off from somebody who was already impacted: everything is going to be okay. There are plenty of companies that want your knowledge and expertise and are willing to pay for it and treat you well once you start there.

I got better pay and benefits now - and don't even get me started on improvements in work culture.

Trust me, you are fearing the worst but being laid off from Verizon might turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to you.

I think that is BS... When you have been with the company 10 years and you are in Customer Service. You will NOT be making double. You will start over at half.

Very true. I'm 50+ year old VSP. I found a new job that I love coming to everyday and with a pay increase. Lot's of anxiety during job search, but now I realize that I should have made a change years ago. The job market is very strong - unemployment is at a 50 year low - I read the other day that it is so tight even folks with criminal records are being hired.
