How's Program Greenfield Doing?

I understand the program is nowhere close to where its supposed to be in terms of meeting its objectives. Greenfield has turned into an endless money pit where millions are spent, but the intended return on investment is never realized. I guess that's what happens when you ask 5000 of your finest to do the work of 8000 people.

What a shame.

I know for a fact that Google has hired superstars with undergrad MIS degrees and actually even bet the company on several of them. People here are misinformed and only guessing.

In the news all companies like google, ibm etc. they all say no degree required, but at the time of hiring, only those who have masters or PhD get hired, in fact they also check from which University they graduated, cause academically qualified are open for new change, play less politics and do more real work.

Greenfield is absolutely necessary to avoid obsolete technology. No ROI is expected, they just spin it in an optimistic way, maybe just trying to keep clients. And it’s a never ending program, since we are on the upward slope of the technology J curve.

Note, just about all of the fintechs are in this same situation, which you will find out if you look for other employment. BNY is just particularly bad at managing their situation. The way they treat many of their employees is unforgivable. You could have the same job somewhere else and be happy.

There is nothing wrong with learning through YouTube. I may have an advanced degree but it is hard for me to keep up with the research in my area without YouTube videos. Also, Google doesn't have any policy of hiring only Masters and PhD folks. Officially, they don't need a college degree.

There is no direction because CEO Charlie quit, all projects will keep on going as is until a new CEO joins, then it will take a while to sort out projects. So expect top level mgmt to stay in place for a long while.

GF initiative is good but how can it be complete when people who started were laid-off or who knows how GF works were laid off.
On top, this is a copy module that other banks are following. Difference is they know what they doing but who copied do not.
You need highly educated and qualified folks, not jerks who learn through YouTube( Check the degrees from Chennai and Pune) these folks can not adapt to change because of limited knowledge . Why do you think google only hire Masters or PhD folks from proven US Universities.
