Received an email from management today that the company has found out that people are using software/hardware to show that their mouse is continuously moving and showing low locked/idle times. Anyone else receive an email like this?

They won’t detect it. Micro managers tend to threaten people with it
I use this one www.wfhhelper.com It's not detectable because you run it from your home computer then you log into your work computer in another window. I guess they can see if you were not doing anything and just left the same screen up all day and never went idle, but that's not what it is designed for. It actually helps me because if my kid needs me to make breakfast and someone happens to instant message me this will beep and let me know to come back to my computer. I think management should embrace things like this and if people abuse the software to not do any work then it's on them.
The real point here is that they spend millions of dollars on software to watch us, and nothing on software that can help us. That's the worst part of uhc. They just do not care about their employees at all.
Umm that software has been in place for quite some time, and yes they use it and yes your supervisor see's your activity. Old news.
I feel like the people complaining here would complain at any job they were at.
Bottom line is the company is not using the software as it's intended. See their site below. They instead are using it to performance manage, intimidate and scare their employees. Management is abusing the software, so folks are working around the abuse.

To the sheep that is embarrassed.... aren't you embarrassed for working hard at a job that clearly shows you nothing but contempt? For working at a company that lies to you? For working for bosses that are the definition of SLOTH?... open your eyes if you can, and see the reality of the "values " that uhc is really putting forth!
Blame management. If they could work load balance correctly, i.e. expecting low idle time without enough work for a person for 8 hours, who's fault is that? In theory, whether it's a device or your hand shaking a mouse, it isn't addressing the problem. The workload. Some people due to re orgs are sitting around waiting to be moved etc and STILL expected to have little idle time Without any work.. how does that even make any sense?
Is it so wrong to just work and do what you were hired to do? I am embarrassed by the entitlement so many of you show- you should not get paid for not working, faking movement to cheat a system? shame on you, you don't deserve a job anywhere you don't work. No sympathy for anyone who is a sloth and loses their position.
I say we should do whatever we need to in order to put up the illusion of working like good little workers.. after all, the big wigs put up their own illusion of being smart. I swear, if breathing wasn't an automatic function of the human body, most big wigs would be dead of asphyxiation
Place a rock on the keyboard or have your toddler type for you so you can go to the bathroom. If employees are pushed into having to go to these extremes to meet expectations then the management needs to self evaluate. What is important? The company has demonstrated themselves that integrity, while expected, is not important. "It's the best needs of the business." They have brought this upon themselves.
If intact integrity and “super productive” were what kept people there then Jag the snake would definitely have been gone a long time ago.

@12PcOEJY-2umv The real issue is UHG causing their employees to go as desperately low as buying a “mouse mover” to keep their job. Doesn’t mean any of them are sitting there doing nothing all day and riding the clock! It’s disgusting how controlling they are...so bad that you can’t even go to the bathroom without worrying about how long your in there!!!!
If you get one of these devices it serves you right to get fired. Just being honest. I rather be super productive and have an intact integrity.
They can't see what exact things you are using, just the groupings. Heck my manager didn't know what was bucketed in each of the groups. It also depends upon your job function. If you are using Word half your day, it's all grouped the same as various other Microsoft programs.
They have line of sight to everything you do. If you have almost no idle time, but you’re not opening different screens or pages, it’s going to be very obvious. You will get flagged.
I found out about the device on this site, and now someone said management knows about it now. The UHC management is reading this site. I was thinking of buying one for myself.
Didn't receive the email. There is no way that DAA can detect the difference between a human vs non-human moving a mouse. How silly.

We didn't get any emails, or have heard anything about it. But I love that people are pushing back against the stupid rules at UHC!

Did not get the email. But were told about it months ago during DAA manager training. We were told they were detected and the person(s) utilizing them were terminated.
