Wide open loco throttle.

Train crews tell me the trains are so underpowered, that they have to run the locos with a wide open throttle on the main lines just to keep the trains moving.
Is this true ?

They gave locos 8 notches for a reason. Use 'em.

This is true and it’s creates more noise and it vibrates the heck out of your body. At least there are inward facing cameras that can witness the constant vibration in the cab from running underpowered at full throttle.

Yes it is true. They call it fuel conservation. Run right at TPA making it a long slow trip.
