After 11 years of mistreatment as a worker I've got fed up and I will be moving my assets out of Fidelity. I have a complicated personal situation that prevents me from quitting and moving on, but as a customer I am done. I'll be suggesting this move to all of my friends and family who are with Fidelity - they should know the truth. Honestly, I am not sure that other companies are better, but I am making the move anyway.

It is possible if you are not fund coded. As long as it is mutual fund only or a managed account. You can not have a brokerage account outside. I have Vanguard IRA and 529s. You have to register them with Compliance. It is a myth that you can not have accounts outside. For majority of employees (who are not fund coded), this is true.
If you work for Fidelity how are you going to move the assets to a competitor? Please explain since it's not possible for a current employee.

Why would you work someplace you do not respect or value? There is no ‘personal situation’ that should prevent you from doing so (unless you’re piking for benefits solely.)
