Well for one big companies like Walmart/Sams Club are always looking for ways to cut payroll and lower the operational cost of each store, by doing this it adds more profit for shareholders. Many companies out there are in the process of replacing cashiers with self checkouts or scan n go type shopping, before long there will be no cashiers only self checkouts and scan n go, who has and will have an issue with this change the older generation who refuse to be part of the new digital world, let’s face it technology has come a long way and continues to progress and the older generation have been left behind because they fear change and want to fight it, unfortunately it’s coming whether they except it or not. Cashiers will be replaced with digital technology, Less Member Service Leads will be needed, less managers will be needed to run daily operations, The future of shopping is online ordering, club pick up, merchandisers to stock and fulfill orders, fresh associates to produce product. These are the positions you want to be in or be left behind. My suggestion is start start educating yourself in digital technology jobs because that’s where you will be valuable.

As long as that member continues to renew there membership nothing changes and actually is going to get worse. We can all b–ch and complain but last I checked Membership revenue is up so in the members eyes all is good. The new Sams Now store is th3 future and more registers will be eliminated. Company does not care about business members anymore. When is the last time you heard We Are In Business For Small Business Owners.

That article is spot on in describing what type of work environment Wal-Mart and Sam's Club is. Truth be told(IN MY OPINION) I do not see Wal-Mart or Sam's Club improving anytime soon because this Company has operated this way for years. This is how Wal-Mart and Sam's Club are. Please take my advice if you need employment bad and they offer you a job take it if not don't it is not worth it. Everyone employed I hope you find a way out.

Wow! Wish there was a date on that article. It is pretty accurate though. I think only 2 are not so accurate.
We have had the wrong people in leadership roles over the past 8-10 years and they just get worse every year. I have noticed the wrong people get promoted MM & above these days. They just know how to open their pie holes and talk a good talk but never walk the walk

The general public is generally well aware of Walmart being really nefarious as an employer no matter what branch of the company it happens to be. Combine that with their reputation in terms of their business practices, and it serves as quite the, "double whammy".

If a company's stock was valued strictly based on public perception, Walmart's would be in the penny stock category.

Lol that article is like 10% right, some of y’all just need to stop complaining, easiest job if you just do the job, plus we get Sam share, I don’t know how other clubs are but man oh man this is embarrassing.

I have a member at my club who before he gets in line at our 1 and only open register he will take a picture of the line. After that he starts a timer on his phone and stops it once he has paid and gotten his cart back. He will then go to our Member Service desk and ask for our GM.

After he had done this about 3 times a manager walked up to him and handed him a gift card. The member handed the gift card back and told the manager maybe use that money to hire more employees.
