Sounds like some of leadership is getting careless or is not correctly trained in how to solicit. Quote from one of many sites regarding this. Can some of these people really say, out loud, that there is a right to refuse without reprisal, etc.

"Employers that solicit contributions from employees for its corporate PAC must ensure the employee feels their contributions are being made voluntarily. Under federal law, contributions may not be secured by the use or threat of physical force, job discrimination or financial reprisal. Employees who believe an employer has violated the law can file a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), which enforces federal election law and can levy civil penalties.

Certain notices are required on all solicitations, oral or written, and are undertaken by the SSF. Each time the SSF or the connected business solicits individuals for contributions, those individuals must be informed of the SSF’s political purpose. It’s not sufficient for the notice to merely say that a contribution to the SSF is voluntary; the notice must inform the employee of their right to refuse to contribute without reprisal from their employer.

If an SSF or connected organization suggests potential contributors give a specified amount, the solicitation must also say this is only a suggested amount, it is not enforceable, and it will not disadvantage the employee if they refuse to give."

They ask for 2%. And yes, a VP tracks you down if you don't give that "recommended amount".

They push you to sign up to give them 20% of your income! it is a very hard sell. They DO keep track of who gives. They recommend you wear your little pin so others who give will know you are one of them.

I told them to call my wife about filling their tin cup with my hard-earned money. She runs the budget in our home. They never asked for her number.

I heard about an employee who got a PAC call from an ALT member. That's a pressure sales tactic for sure!

I get personal calls from a VP every year. No matter what the VP says that is a pressure sales tactic and it impacts their opinion of the people they call. Now that I can see who it is I just don’t answer. Ethically grey and gives the appearance of “quid pro quo” in today’s meme language.

I wonder if anyone has tried legal action against lobbyists who pushed through a damaging policy change like that FAA privatization?

We should follow Microsoft and just not support. Ask mother honeywell to publish talking points and research on their own nickel .. in the open. We can donate directly.

Although they have a no retaliation policy if you don't contribute, they keep lists and know who has given and who hasn't. Saw an exec throw up a PP in a staff meeting with names of targeted employees (to contribute) and the VPs who were assigned to get them to do that. Lots of pressure. Pathetic.
