From the WSJ 2020 Election & Business edition:
Chart of the Week: PAC Fund Race
Honeywell, the industrial conglomerate, appears poised to keep its crown as the biggest federal corporate political action committee by total receipts, a position it has held since the 2010 election cycle, when it displaced AT&T. Boeing, currently No. 2, has been in the top five since 2016. In recent years, contributions to Republicans have generally outweighed those to Democrats from these PACS, and nearly all their 2020 contributions so far have gone to House and Senate candidates. Honeywell said its PAC supports candidates backing policies important to its businesses and the U.S. economy. Although corporations are prohibited from contributing to campaigns and political parties, their political action committees may do so, subject to limits, and raise money from company employees, primarily executives and salaried workers.
