So they won a contract in Kentucky and are currently working on other states. This is a good thing right? Are things looking up?

KY is a difficult state to do Medicaid managed care in...Passport Health was a home-grown company and the oldest plan in the state. They always struggled and were never very profitable (if at all).
Wellcare has been there for a long time snd incurred huge losses early on. As I recall, the plans eventually had to sue to get rate increases.
Lots of the state is rural, which Molina struggles with. Still, there is a possibility that MOH makes KY work, but the company would need to invest...not in charitable donations, but in infrastructure (both at the plan level and corporate IT & claims).
Given management’s approach to reducing headcount, prospects for a smooth rollout appear dim.
How’s that for an honest and balanced opinion?
There is some very bad news coming- an no Kentucky is a total major loss as the last poster noted.
I think KY is a bad thing. It is a horrible manage care environment and we certainly don’t have the skills to deliver. I foresee major losses

Is anyone else over the fear mongering or comments just to stir the pot? OP asked a valid question and the only replies are vague and hint and bad things to come. I, as well as the majority of others that frequent this site, would certainly appreciate honest and useful information being shared. If you know then why withhold it? Some of us who still work here actually enjoy their jobs and don’t want to leave but as a person with a family to take care of its nice to have a site like this to give us all a heads up on what’s to come to make an informed decision. Please share if your truly know. Thank you.
