NOV Stonehouse to be closed. FACT.

Senior management and HR arrived in Stonehouse this morning to announce that the facility will be shutting down in the new year with the loss of all manufacturing personnel.

It's a real shame to hear this and sorry for the very poor HR support provided at this difficult time, the HR guy is at best embarrassing and at worst amateurish, out of their depths.

Ex Hycalog, the rig count has been dropping for the past several months, and it is way down from being at nearly 2,000 rigs a few years ago. Technology is making the drilling business far more efficient, which means fewer rigs and fewer bits. Schlumberger, Halliburton, etc are all dropping headcount and consolidating operations.

sadly to see this quality UK RH facility go down with an average work experience of around 17 yrs, while other US RH facility remain open with an average work experience 7 months... I feel your pain.... hope we're having a good QA department to make up for it....
