Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Changes to associates PTO is coming effective January 31st.

Just a heads up to everyone, the company is reducing how fast you accrued PTO into half. So basically if accumulate 12 hours per paycheck, it’s going down to 6. The PPTO will stay the same. They want you to use PPTO for everything now.

@1huk And Americans workers shouldn't be working 3 jobs at $8.50 and hour just to barely pay all their bills every month either.

American corporations have become more and more greedy since the Reagan era putting profits before people. People are more productive than they were a decade(s) ago but that doesn't translate into more pay as a reward. In fact it's the opposite. Any meager pay raise is automatically taken away every year by inflation and the rising costs of everything.

When people barely getting by can't prop up the economy anymore and corporations continue to cut labor with more layoffs to raise their profits that's a sign that the "American way of life' no longer works.

You guys need to pay attention. Can they change up PTO? Yes and probably will. But this person posting this is fake. All you're doing is feeding the trolls. Don't complain next time you've been gotten by them.

I actually believe this lol. And knowing the managers they’d reward themselves with more PTO days. One of my managers take 8 vacations. Because the club manager is her bestie.

Well if you check the barometer: all the changes in the last 12 months:
Once a year bonus was a nice healthy four figure $$$$. My quarterly have been about the same as having a garage sale! A gift yes, but the beginning of no bonus at all!!
There is no build morale by rewarding those that show up and work!! Their quest is to be like amazon! All automated, no cashiers! And very few floor associates!! My store has a staff of exhausted and short tempered leads/assistant managers!
The new year beginning February will bring more changes!
Corporations are not about bringing mom and pop stores back, they are about gobbling up more of the dollars being spent no matter whose head rolls!

I believe there might be validity to the basic information. They would like nothing better than to reduce the hours they give us. They already have if you look at what use to be, compared to what is.

Remember, we use to be able to call off three days in a row and it was counted as one occurence. No need to worry if you had ppto time to cover it or not. You were safe. Now you must have PPTO or it will count as three points. And five points is the limit.

They're like politicians, with their spin on the realities of the time we are allowed to respond to an emergency or to be sick. It's a shame to be fired because you have pneumonia or bronchitis or your child is sick and the school demands you come pick them up.

I wouldn't put it past them to be this petty.
