Been hearing about all these layoffs, and right before the holiday. Truly sad. Was wondering if anyone has heard whispers of layoffs in E&I? I know we have lost a lot of business and the workload is way down. Definitely makes us nervous.

This is all true. Mandatory overtime for 5+ months. Money is nice but everyone is burned out. Now with mass layoffs, morale is way down. Especially in light of rumors of another round in 2020. Work like dogs all through The holidays, time away from family, all to lose your job anyway. It’s the United way!
How about in the E&I product and PMO?
I'm a new provider in the housecalls program & don't understand why 'we' are not allowed to schedule any member visits in 2020 yet. Hmmmm...
In mtg today, they couldn't or wouldn't say which departments would face additional layoffs. But the consensus is there will be more. Rationale: to save costs. Yet CEO'S are banking millions. Why don't we start there!
I heard E&I lost a VP, managers, supervisors, frontline nurses, all the LPNs and like 4 docs today. Also heard there’s another round in 2020... UMR included.
Today I lost an amazing supervisor AND manager.
VP said downsizing was complete in the meeting. That doesn't mean that when we merge into Optum next month that another wave of layoffs won't happen though. I heard a rumor that March is the next wave.
My direct supervisor was laid off today in E&I. They called a last minute do not forward this email all team meeting 12 minutes prior to it starting. No word yet how many lost their jobs. Crazy because we have had endless "business required overtime (BROT)"for the last 2 + months, including over the Thanksgiving holiday.. a COMPANY HOLIDAY. They expect us to work all of this overtime yet it is not a 40 hour work week and therefore only paid at regular pay. 13 hours of BROT on a holiday week while I just read our CEO purchased company shares worth over 5million. SMH.
