Creating a thread to specifically track clinical roles that have been eliminated (nurses, pharmacists, dentists, MDs, etc.). Please be as specific and detailed as possible on numbers, dates, roles, and departments. Also please don’t use acronyms without explaining what they stand for.

No info from direct managers. They are nervous too. NP s from all over USA worrying because we are not getting any information about what’s happening in Housecalls. Sad how company promotes compassion as a core value but had none for its employees. I wish I could share concrete information but I have none. None of my colleagues I keep in contact with do either. So sorry for those of you let go. Apparently managers have no say in who stays or who goes. Some say it’s poor metrics, other say poor performance evaluations, but no clear answer.

Nurse practitioners doctors and pharmacists throughout optum have been laid off

Rumor has it that over 200 (out of 1600) NPs- nurse practitioners from Optum HouseCalls and Complex Care Management got laid off in November. Its all been very hush hush and nobody is talking. Zero response from management. No word of any further layoffs as of yet. But most are expecting it because of the browbeating of metrics and slow schedules.
All are telecommuters who work solo in a specific area but the gossip text chain is nationwide. If they turf the patient scheduling and support staff AND behavioral health/case management to overseas its going to have a tremendous impact on the NP side too.
Our medical director was laid off yesterday
I was laid off today. Case Manager with the Maternity Support Program, as well as many other fully insured maternity case managers.
Clinical managers of Case Managers, clinical associate directors, case managers, clinical program consultants, business process analysts, social workers, impact to all clinical roles under Medicare-Optum Case management programs.
