My department hired a new intern that showed up to the interview wearing shorts and a t shirt. When questioned why they stated this intern wasn’t a good choice but the best choice available. So let’s hear some more about “hiring and retaining top talent“ from the execs.

Utter abuse of fmla. Ha thats the only way to get time off half the time. If they treated agreement the same as non agreement it would be nice.
Tow in over 12. Must be a HQ guy not familiar with those RR terms sorry.
Hiring is the MOST VITAL KEY to any companies success or failure and it's been the UP's "pie graph" hiring practices that has lead to the railroads performance or lack thereof in every major US city. Rampant utter abuse of FMLA, a gross sense of entitlement and because they hire based not on past performance of any kind rather quotas as not to offend political pimps they fill the workplace with utter t–ds forcing the few good employees to carry the weight burning out quickly worse yet rewarding t–ds with promotions or easier assignments that don't affect vital train movements.
The amount of “execs” with a fake degree is truly astounding. Top talent you know.
Sounds pretty believable to me actually. This is the same company that let someone with a fake degree make it all the way to AVP
That’s a BS story, don’t believe it. Another weekend warrior mad because he got cut off.
Not surprising. Union Pacific is a complete joke.
@hpz - said intern been around a few months. The story is just now getting out.
If you are a young kid in college motivated enough to seek an internship, chances are that in 2019 Enron Pacific just didn’t make the cut. So you get the guys from dude where’s my car showing up in shorts and tshirts.
That's because nobody with any marketable skills or talent will apply to work at UP. Everybody everywhere knows the place is a toxic cesspit. They probably are the best option.
Glad to see UP is still chasing downward.
Question: who in their right mind is wearing shorts in Omaha in December?
