Hours Being Cut In January?

hey guys, I just started working at sam's club in november, a couple of my coworkers said we're gonna have our hours cut in january after the holidays. right now im getting 25 a week as a cashier/cashier runner, a few times 27, one gal I talked to said we could have our hours cut down to 12-15 hours for a couple months, another guy said 18 was lowest he ever got. is this true? and if it is, does it always dip that low for january/february? thanks guys!!

I laugh at the ones who post about managers fav get this and that and the ones that post that are the ones who call in over and over , constantly complain , late all the time ,excessive breaks and lunches. Being a manager and I have to choose someone that I know is going to be at work and actually work when they are there , do not need to follow up on what they did because they do it correctly the first time or I have a person that has the pace of a sloth, constantly complains and who’s a couple points away from being terminated then who do you think is going to get there hours cut first. It’s not favoritism it’s being smart.

Payroll cuts after the holidays is nothing new. I have found if you work and don't constantly call in, then you will work your regular hours. Why so much negativity here all the time? I really think people have no lives and this is their main focus, stir the pot, spread the gossip and rumors. So mature.

As long as you have open availability you should be fine. Our club never cuts hours on people who can work whatever whenever

Been like that ever since I started. Going on eight years. It usually only last a month or so. Not sure how long it will last with block scheduling in place.

Hours for part-timers usually do get cut in January. The trick is to make yourself flexible to pick up hours in other areas. However, people like to be stubborn and refuse the hours offered in other departments that they may not like.
