Why not lay down? The few that are left are guaranteed six-years; inclusive, they get bumping rights into other locations. Working hard to protect your job is a waste of time at this point. The writing is on the wall. The ones layed off are the ones screwed...no promises.

Ever since UP took over MOPAC, they have threatened to shut down Palestine Car Shop. What's new. All the employees there are hardened to the threats. Let them alone.
They don’t care about car repair billing, they have said repeatedly that there not in the car repair business. They already know what is going to take place so just do what they want you to do and hopefully you will survive if not you were going to get cut anyway. Nothing we do will change there plan but rest assured whoever comes in next after this stock scam is going to have to rebuild the entire company.

Don't believe the lies about keeping your job by increasing productivity. They told kansas city the same lie. We got our numbers up, did what they said they wanted and guess what, they laid almost everyone off. They're liars.
I believe this is not about the numbers. Before I got ferlough we had a two men rip track billing over 100,000 a month, yard productivity was over 90 percent ( one Carmen per shift). The railroad don't make money by billing car owners for repairs they make money by moving freight.
Get real until they hit 55 just keep cutting.

Losing 30 brothers of Brotherhood of Railway Carmen should have been a wake up call. Plus knowing how many shops have closed in the last year and how many guys lost their job across the system. Guys this is real. What are you going to do when you are sent home with one week pay and lose insurance? It’s reality for the 30 and it’s embarrassing that you have responded by not working.
