VSP?

Anyone hearing anything about a possible VSP? Heard it was a possibility.

@uqwo, If you can get an immediate pay grade or two boost by jumping ship now I'm not sure why you just don't take it. The higher pay and I assume better benefit package as well will quickly overtake any severance you seem to be hoping for. Your self assessed marketability sounds iffy.

I'm a 1 or 2+ top performing PSG 24 and I would take a VSP in a heart beat if offered. I can get a PSG equivalent 25 or higher in the market place now rather than wait 5+ more years.

The selection process will Ben the same as spring PDC or a parallel one? Who are in scope?

There will be no Voluntary Severance Package. Chevron will prefer to select the personnel who will be laid off rather than run the risk of having too many near-term retirement employees volunteering to leave and taking a one year check severance check with them as a bonus. Word to the wise— If you are really wanting to take this opportunity to leave the company and collect a severance package, your best action is to not advertise it and hope they lay you off anyway.

That's why Chevron is not competitive. Need to go to CHAOS to decipher every communication. WTH is a VSP?

If vsp is same as Anadarko’s package, 90% employees will take it.

I already have VSP! Used it the other day for my eye exam! Great benefit!

Interesting theory, but there really aren’t any jobs out there. The industry is in a downward spiral.

That could be disastrous for the company. Good technical people with marketable skills would take it, confident in the knowledge they can easily find another job while those who know that they’re not competitive in the job market would hold on and hope to stay at Chevron. The company would end up with unemployable, underskilled, and unmotivated people.

I know what I’m worth in the market and if they offered a VSP I’d probably take it and have a new job within 3 months. But then, I’m just one of those “impatient millenials”

No reason for a VSP, just sack anyone who is not up to scratch and replace them with an inpatient millenial.

If they offered a VSP, starting at highest grade levels they would know what positions would be open for folks who have talent and want to stay but may be more at risk because of where they work (e.g AMBU, CBU, ETC UC, PRC etc).. The company has the right to keep people if they felt they filled critical positions- A VSP would not leave the negative hangover like the 2016 ESP. Seems like a smart thing to do but just don't see Chevron being progressive enough to do this.
