Since being furloughed, I have received several offers to apply for jobs in other UP locations. I am responsible for moving expenses and lodging. Hahaha... Who would fall for that? No thanks. I don’t need to relocate just to be unemployed somewhere else.

U should have fun with it. Accept a new job with UP and show up for one day and call in sick after that until they put u in investigation and then quit.
I'm just hoping everyone that was layed off waited tell the end of the year to get their vacation payout. Wont be much off the bottom line but every little bit makes me feel good
It’s not seniority, bumping or forcing. It’s hiring five new people who just ran the gauntlet to get on at UP and then laying them off two weeks later. It’s quitting a job and moving just to be let go as soon as you start. It’s corporate greed to push stock prices higher, not to help keep the company afloat.
That’s called seniority. I was cut, forced and bumped out my original location several times throughout my career. If you didn’t know that could happen when you hired out then you weren’t listening. Pull your head out and quit acting like a tuff guy.
People come on here after being furloughed or getting a new job. Ok so what? It’s just a free website. No harm in that. Most people have been screwed over by UP so a little ranting isn’t going to hurt anyone. I’d be more concerned about the losers that come on here to take up for UP. Hopefully y’all are at least getting compensated for trolling on here and posting fake reviews elsewhere on the net.
The furloughed are getting more information off here then anywhere else. Most places it's still a pretty good job just look at all the people that complain and stay. After they get done with all the psr c-ap they are doing hopefully they get a management team that will look out for the longevity of the company and not for the shareholder. Then it will benefit everyone. And if you are still working just go ask your union they wont lead you astray right
