Typical day at Sams today during the One Day Sale. Short handed, lines were horrible. Max of 2 registers open, MSS' had to finally step up and open registers. Management should have been on front end running the show. On top of that they finally moved the membership desk. What a horrible configuration. Apparently it is only a temporary move. Been tol we are due for another remodel in June/July. At that time the desk will be moved again. What we have now square area with one register and 3 or 4 I Pads What is this company thinking? I hope home office appreciates the people who #1, come to work day after day w/o calling in/ and #2 working an 8 hour shift w/no breaks and the only reason you get a lunch is because the computer locks you out.

This new desk configuration is going to get someone hurt. Bad. Members, who come in angry, are standing right beside you. When we were behind a desk barrier, and a member threatened bodily harm, we could back up, out of reach, and call for management. Not so now.
Granted I've only seen that a few times over the years, but each time was scary enough. Now...... I can only imagine. Don't ever forget the Walmart Black Friday horror of 2008.

Hate to break it to you, that is the new membership desk set up. All you need are iPads. Company's new normal.
we had 6 registers open with runners at most of them were floor assoc 2 desk assoc.and the market lead at the desk and the club was still a hot mess
Our Sam’s wasn’t chaotic. We had all 6 registers open by 830
