Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Weak middle management forming a deadly alliance

Weak middle management is forming a strong alliance to protect themselves from being laid-off. I saw few middle management taking off around the same time to meet secretly to plan how to form a strong alliance so that no one from upper management can show them the door but instead get promoted. These people who are in alliance are bragging each other and making fake impression in face of upper management to get promoted.
Fake impression works because there is no real tools that gives the real statistic to prove these individual performance. It's purely based on fake recommendation. If you see some managers having no one laid off in his team or even their team is increasing in number, then is a question(?).

So wait ... you saw them sneak off to meet up secretly yet you are somehow aware of what was discussed? How impressive! What is your super power? Super hearing? ESP? Tell us your secrets!
Get a grip. The decisions for layoffs are made so far above middle managements heads they have less than no say in the outcome. Fun conspiracy theory though.

Sounds like Brooklyn, for sure. Shady moves from middle management. No reqs opened and no real work, yet they are bringing in people from other departments for “extra help”. Someone should really look into the ETF department.

They keep moving the boys from middle management at Pershing to other departments to save their jobs. All you have to do is to conform and drink the kool aid and you're safe. Don't forget the separation packages for the elders which keeps the boys club intact. It's a never ending daily game that is fun to watch grown men who are spineless from those in their ivory towers, all for the almighty $$$.

Middle management can’t do a thing to protect themselves or their teams. That’s not where the decisions are being made.

If there are more layoffs coming, middle management will be the targets. Each manager is supposed to have at least 8 people reporting, if not then someone will be let go and groups combined.

lol this has been normal, middle management is the first to go anyway. Overpaid and spend their time hiding behind people. They turn on each other real fast when there isn't enough room on the life boat like hunger games

I guess you really have to write something spectacular on Hamilton in order to get a promotion.

Seems like it actually started between NYC and PGH folks. Everyone who are within the alliance are moved to Lucky Seven floor in PGH.

Don't know if there are real evidence of above but I tend to believe based on my story. My project manager never participate in a parent meeting, didn't show up on implementation, when I was need his sign off I even could not reach him by phone. I conducted and controlled all work, but when I enter my name as a project leader into documentation he changed it on his name. So guess who was separated? But my manager still there and sell his face and making an alliance instead of perform their work responsibility. But may be I was wrong and stupid to mad excellent job and indeed responsibility of middle management is to make an alliance and build fake impression.
