Values & Management

Why are the senior management in this organisation incapable of making country managers accountable? We continually hear about values and the expectation to challenge. However, local management laugh in the face of this or certainly do not act in accordance with thise values and epectations. Their punishement is zero. So the company preaches one thing but in reality it is a PR stunt. Heads of EMEA and the regions within are so poor it is not something the USA can not be aware of...surely this cannot be going unnoticed?

I know exactly who you refer to. She's big on the glass ceiling, more females on boards and all that. She's rarely in her office, always travelling. She gets things done, but its all academic at that level.

We had a Head of International Ops operating from EMEA spent all of the business budget in travelling all over offices in Europe and US where she could resolve issues via con.call or video conferencing . At the end of the year she left with zero or no budget for the team . That's how much accountability BONY has for managers that they could finish all the budget for a year that would have been used for process enhancement or Team building .

That post had hit the nail on the head. They turn a blind eye to the real issues. The organisation appears to be a political mess with back tapping leadership who are in it for short term.
