@2sxv - yes there is a hiring freeze in place.

And Cisco is cutting OpEx by cutting travel for my BU, and probably others. It was decided by lunchtime yesterday to notify contractors in several BUs that they were extending the year-end shutdown furlough from 12/25 - 1/1 to 12/23 - 1/3. They basically added 4 additional unpaid days to the contractors on little to no notice.

Does anyone know if cisco is on a hiring freeze? I applied for several jobs and i thought i will get an offer but it looks like the job was closed for some reason.

I never minded the mandatory PTO during the December holidays. It was actually very nice......my email inbox slowed down to a trickle (versus hundreds of emails daily ), and my cell stopped ringing all day.

Has there been a reduction? Or is this a what if?

Nothing says "Best Employer in the Whole World" like mandatory PTO.
