Lol they are towing the company c-ap. Oh we have good results blah blah. Care about your voice. Good scores. McMahon behind the scenes is a totally different story. Employees are nothing but used and abused. Remember that during your annual screw over.

I hit 66 yrs old a few weeks ago and am now just waiting for the axe to fall. Personally, if I can get a measly bonus AND severance for my 5+ years - I would feel like I won the lottery. However, I am a realist so anticipate this will NOT happen. I work in Optum Insight on the commercial side as an IT Security Architect - so will step into the Gig economy once I get my marching orders I suppose.
Wichmann's good at the stock buy-back, spur the market BS. He came from Arthur Anderson, that tells you all you need to know right there.
I perused Wichman’s insider trading last year and almost had a stroke. ( these people wont be able to walk down the street)
Look- I’m not a communist. I believe in the Constitution and a free market economy, but the system is rigged.
We have crazy, sick and they are young people and some not so young( Bernie Sanders) who would institute Gulags to teach people what it’s like to be a working class citizen. They would round up people like Wichman, throw him in a gulag, and have him outside, crushing rocks for 12 hours a day. - now, that’s prison working class!
I posted the original comment about Dirk.. Can downvote it all you want.. but he is one of the reasons you didn't see mass layoffs during the economic climate in 2007-09. He knows the value of operations, and that the workers are the reason for success. That's why they moved him over to Optum and back again. I agree Wichmann is the driving force, and ultimately, Dirk is responsible for carrying out Wichmanns orders.. but it wouldn't shock me to see Dirk leave the organization because of what is going on.
Have “faith” in no one. You are only setting yourself up for disappointment. However, I will say this about Dirk- (and I could be wrong bcos that happens a lot) the vibe I’m getting from him? Dirks vibe is that he’s still HUMAN. That shouldn’t take long to work out of him though.
McMahon knows layoffs, hiring freezes, reorgs, and nickel and diming every dept for resources. If that's at wichmans orders so be it. But he's not fighting for the employees if he is in fact "listening". I will say it looks industry wide. Check out Aetna and Humana boards. It's a race to the bottom to keep the stock above water
I agree with the comment about Dirk knowing what's up. Dirk is a good leader, but now that he reports to Wichmann his hands are tied.
Definitely layoffs coming the week of Feb 3, but don't know the impact. Unfortunately, complaining here isn't going to help. It's time that Sr. Leaders of this organization here our voices. We have a huge workforce. Can you imagine if even 1/4 of our 300k employees start speaking up and sharing our concerns? Wichmann needs to know we are not going to tolerate what he is doing to this company. Anyone who has been here a long time knows this is not what the company was before he became our leader. The raise and bonus budget for this year is nothing, but yet we are reporting billions and billions in profit. Start speaking up. Write reviews on Glassdoor. Comment on the HUB article sharing Wichmann's email about how well we performed. Be heard and it might finally stop!
Reducing costs for what? They're in the top 10 fortune 500 companies. THEY HAVE MONEY!!!!!
The political presentation was way too much.
It's an all employee meeting. Get a grip.
These people are a laughable joke. Most on my team are attending to get out of working. ITS ALL BS AND I HOPE THEY ALL GET TERMINATED.
Now they are talking about politicians... is there anything this place won't get their grubby dirty hooks into? Nothing they are saying is about members.... it's all about $$$$$...
The number one priority in one of the slides was reduce costs, everyone should already be aware that means reducing staff. So be prepared this year, I imagine all areas will be touched in some way
Dirk knows what's up. He actually speaks to workers when he's in house. He's listened to calls etc. He's the only person I actually have faith in at this point in the company.
