The company in in such a state of confusion it's sad. They do layoff after layoff then want to limits folks ability to earn. No judge in their right mind will enforce that. Speak to numerous folks who are still there, I did 18 years and had such a great team who are all gone now and btw thriving in new roles. There is no family feeling left at Cisco ANYWHERE!

And, strangely, they left all the not-so-great minds in Lysaker. Telepresence was crushed in San Jose, but they kept the ESL tech writers in Norway. Although it’s probably not so strange; Norway must have better attrition laws than we do. Anybody remember the Viking hats?

** International tech giant is suing Norwegian entrepreneur profiles **

The Norwegian video conferencing startup Neat and several people associated with the company are being sued by Cisco. The US technology giant is accusing former employees, including profiled Norwegian entrepreneurs, of stealing business secrets.

Last year, Neat entered into agreements with one of the hottest companies on US Nasdaq, the Zoom video program, and makes hardware tailor-made for them. The company competes with Cisco's video conferencing business.

Among the accused are investor and entrepreneur Odd Johnny Winge , who is, among other things, product manager at Neat. He became a billionaire when, together with partner Fredrik Halvorsen, he sold the companies Tandberg and Acano to just Cisco in 2010 and 2015. Today, the duo is heavily involved in several of the country's hottest growth companies through the investment company Ubon Partners, including Disruptive Technologies and Vaion .

According to agreements with Cisco, the two are not allowed to establish competing businesses or recruit people to such companies from the US giant, DN writes.

In addition, Founder and CEO of Neat, Simen Teigre , defendant. He has been involved in a number of Norwegian start-ups since joining Cisco, including Pexip and Zaptec . He was also a short term CEO of Huddlestock .

In December, Winge and Teigre received unannounced visits from the names bailiffs from Asker and Bærum and Oslo, following a ruling from Asker and Bærum district court. So did former Cisco employees Simen Andresen and Chiao-Ling Liao , who are now Neat's designer and engineer, respectively. The raid seized content from the defendants' computers, cell phones, as well as personal cloud storage services and emails.

“We have initiated a legal process against Neat and former employees for violating the intellectual property rules. As a first step, authorities have secured evidence from Neat and the people linked to Cisco's lawsuits. As one might expect, we act resolutely to protect Cisco's significant investment in research and development and valuable intellectual property, ”states a statement from Cisco, relayed to DN.

All of the defendants, through their respective lawyers, reject the claims of the American giant, and it is pointed out that they have not been given the opportunity to comment either.

  • The request from Cisco contains several errors and inaccuracies, according to attorney for Simen Andresen and Chiao-Ling Liao, Andreas Nordby in Arntzen de Besche.

The case will go up in Asker and Bærum district court during the spring.

Cisco is not a collab leader anymore. They LR'ed or drove away all the great minds. Now some dudes in BGR are just learning how to code on Cisco's dime 'n time - "Introduction to Programming 101 Using C"
