Maybe if they build more FiOS, it will stop the seemingly endless negative growth VZ Comm reports every quarter.
Very comical, when FiOS came out - nobody wanted to learn how to install it and just wanted to do copper. Now, outside plant is defending it. Unfortunately when 5g home rolls out, outside plant will have no choice.
Even when (if) 5G comes to life, it will be far behind the quality of Fios.
GPON FiOS is wayyy slower than even 1st generation fixed-antenna 5G installs.
Not upgrading from GPON 10 years ago will k–l FiOS.

BS, I've had FIOS for 10 years and it never went out, even with the cable laying on the ground after hurricane Sandy.

FiOS is the best cable/internet provider compared to Time Warner, AT&T, Optimum. And I have tired the last 3. When it comes to promotion and reaching out to new customers, FiOS is dead last. Other competitors send daily mail to customers with promotions and sometimes they show up at your doorstep bagging you to switch. You never see any FiOS promotions out there. Once I moved to a FiOS area and tried to sign up, I was told that service is not available in your area. There was a FiOS terminal where you could hook up the fiber drop 5 feet away from the house. After calling many many times, i finally got someone who knew what they were doing and I was able to get FiOS. It seems like no one is interested in acquiring new customers.

Highly unlikely. Cord cutting is going to continue without reservation in 2020. FiOS is too costly for internet only. FiOS is great for double/triple plays, but those seem to be part of the past age and not the future age.
