Optum getting rid of ICUE

I heard Optum is getting rid of ICUE- sure that is pointing to more layoffs. Anyone know if that is true and if so- what system will they replace it with?

I don’t think ICUE is going anywhere anytime soon. It took nearly a decade to get everyone off of its predecessors, CCS and CareOne and onto ICUE! 😂

iCUE is the platform that is used by clinical review departments. Like Inpatient case mgt, prior auth, reconsideration review, case management, etc.

Our Care Management is already aggressive moving members into OAM or closing program within ICUE depending on member need.

Optum is definitely trying to consolidate the number of platforms being used and it will take YEARS + a significant capital investment to transition off ICUE. But other systems are being evaluated as replacements, OCM is the one mentioned most frequently.
