Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

More of the same....

Another dumb idea from above.
It's NOT the software. It can't be. If that's the problem, then there is nothing that can be done. So we'll hire a new Chief Marketing Officer. We just aren't selling it right, yeah, yeah, that's the ticket...

This is another of those stage 4 in the death spiral ideas. Grasping at stupidity.

This guy is in for a rude awakening at Oracle. I'm betting he won't be there very long.

Couple of marketing people I knew have left. Not good, not good.

Stupid is as stupid does, referring to both the LE - SC combo and the new CMO, how can you know so little about the industry and be so poorly connected that you don’t understand how f—ed up O is! What a mo–n!

How about getting customers to like you and feel you are not trying to screw them over.

You are very correct. He was seduced (just like the last “CMO”) with a big jump-up title and pay package. Dazzled by Larry’s version of the Steve Jobs reality distortion field.

But when the new CMO arrives and actually gets out to survey the situation, he will be in for a shock. He will be gone within 12-18 months.

The last CMO saw after her first few months that things were such a disaster both politically and product wise that she could not materially fix the problems not have a positive impact given the personal toll that would be required. So she smartly and gracefully exited after a year — just long enough not to make things look horrible on her resume.

The “insider” line of betting and internal oddsmakers are betting pretty much same for the new CMO.
