Wife was laid off after 2 years and a total of 15+ with UHG. No notice, no warning, "just your position is eliminated effective immediately. We will send a box for you to mail your computer back into us."

"eliminated" meaning they sent it over seas to the phillipines. They are doing that to the IT helpdesk and desktop techs. Mass lay off and just back filling I've in the phillipines.
That was the corporate america. Only matter of time before davita, healthcarepartner, optum, sells again. The owners thank you for all your hard work. Can we get a yo duhvita?
Fyi, no company ever gives advance notice on layoffs, unless maybe an office is closing or the company is closing. I’ve been laid off at other companies, at least I work at home now and I don’t have to be walked out of the office with my things in a box. That was horrible.

Being laid off by a corrupt company like this one is actually a blessing in disguise. There are far better companies who actually help their employees. The empty boxes are nothing more than the emptiness of the hearts of the managers who work for Optum. They will all reap what they sow. As far as no warning, if you attempt to have a labor attorney help, then don't bother because the law only pertains to plant closingw. UHG/Optum is corrupt and will get their just desserts.
Has anyone tried taking a c-ap in the boxes that are mailed back to them? ;)
Most layoffs do not have any advance notice at UHG.
