I wonder if the 9 weeks is due to the Oregon WARN, which requires employers of 100+ employees, to notify them & the state of Oregon at least 60 days in advance before a certain # of employees are laid-off, or if the business is closing.

As of today, even with Swan stating "1000" the Oregon WARN site is STILL not showing Intel.

And NOT ONE of the local "news" channels has done a story on these layoffs–it's like there's a an agreed-on news blackout!

The payout for untaken days depends on the state you live in. In 2016, people living in Cali got pay out for their accrued vacation days and earned-but-untaken sabbatical. Oregon folks didn’t get pay for their accrued vacation days, and I’m not sure how earned-but-untaken sabbaticals we’re handled. Find out ASAP. If you get no payout for accrued vacation days, take your vacation now. What are they going to do in response — Fire you?

Having sabbatical and vacation paid out is legally required. Don't be fooled to think this is part of a "package."

Is the 9 weeks to be used to look for a new job? If so, then this is not really part of the package. For a company at peak earnings and stock price, providing 1 week per year is really lean. At the same time, did Murthy really get a $100M retention payment? If so, that is sick. No wonder the culture has not recovered from BKs cuts.

I believe you do get paid out for fully earned sabbatical.

Even sepparatipn package was 50% better in 2014-16 layoffs (1.5 week per year)
