So sorry you are losing your job! Can tell you are a dedicated employee which is rare to come by. From reading all the posts there is a lot going on to answer your question as to management, and people seem to not know what they are doing. Letting go of quality associates is not the way to go, 100% positive. Wishing you all the best!

I'm devastated. I loved my job and loved the people that I worked with. I'm getting fired in 2 weeks because Macy's had a bad quarter. Really? In my store, they are letting the last 3 hires go and I'm one of them even though I've been there about 3 years and was the #3 salesperson. I'd love to get some feedback on what's going on. Thanks.

So far my store has doubled last years number. That's what you get being short staffed and no detective in store. So you cant make stops and every shoplifter in the county knows it.

You Macy's East Folks are doing well compared to the West where we lead the company in shortage. Perhaps we shouldn't make all of our downsizing announcements in the same month we are taking inventory and doing reconciliation. When region, district, and store leaders are so on edge that the reward for their hard work during the holidays will be losing their jobs, you are probably not getting the focus needed to be prepared for a well executed inventory and recon process.

Someone will work their magic on those numbers. Their job depends on it

@assistant buyer: Of course I know the first flash is always bad, however this time it was REALLY bad. Will be nearly impossible to come anywhere near goals. Perhaps I should have been clearer.

This is what happens when a company cuts staffing so severely. This isn’t a reflection of the AP teams or their hard work this is stripping it down to nothing and praying for the best. Most stores in my Northeast district have maybe two AP detectives expect the busier stores. If you think the thieves don’t know this you’re naive. Plus states are decriminalizing shoplifting so this is what you get. Thieves that know there are simply no consequences, AP see the same thieves daily, we even see their social media where they brag about it. Good times.

Inventory results have been bad for years. quit firing employees for coupons and BS policy issues and find the real shrink. your LP program does nothing but k–l moral.

As a former assistant buyer who was inventory focused instead of vacation, the First flash is always bad ... several issues are found: stores missed areas or stockrooms or floor sections, loaded trailers at DC's booked to stores but still sitting at DC's or arrived to stores late, merchandise booked by a vendor but not shipped, DC inventory errors, etc.

I did a large amount of shopping via Macy's this year. Everything turned out pretty well compared to other e-comm retailers and your company had the best prices.

Results were "unexpectedly horrendous". This is what happens when you cut experienced management and security staff, plain and simple.

Well keep firing the other folks who can run that place like a top and hire the 10hr no show Millennial and this is your results.
