Rumblings Around The System

Ok folks let’s hear what’s going on in this epically sinking ship. People leaving voluntarily at your location, managers proving their unfitness to be in charge, not able to do the job because your shorthanded or you can’t get parts, overtime being called on a massive scale to try to cover work? Share what’s going on in your area.

The bleeding has to eventually start being noticed by someone hopefully, then maybe the ship can be lumped back to port and tried to be repaired if it doesn’t sink first

Another heard anything post is exactly what is needed on this page to keep people informed on what’s happening system wide being informed is a lot better then sitting with you head on the sand. What up with agreement employees “hating” on managers when most managers are on the floor walking around telling people that they are doing their jobs wrong and acting like they know how to do the jobs better then agreement employees they should be called out.

Only problem is they are reducing cost in the areas that will reduce their ability to earn revenue. Cut out the extra bs and reduce where you can then be satisfied with less profits in a slowing economy and position for growth on the upswing. Or.......... bleed it out until the gov steps in.

They understand that revenue can be down and profits up. Reducing costs is key. That’s why giving up some customers while reducing headcount, assets and other expenditures can raise profits. They understand why quite well.

What is it with you people (agreement) and your managers? The managers at the railroad are no more or less qualified than they are in any other industry or company. Most new managers don't stay beyond three years anyway.

I think a lot of you are just p-ss-d-off that you have no marketable skills are therefore stuck with the dysfunction and rot of UP for the rest of your careers. Tell your kids to finish college so that they don't end up in the same predicament.

They aren’t making as much much revenue even though they furloughed so many employees. They can’t figure out why.

Adding originating trains back also, but not on the “record”, stored units pulling freight. Re-naming trains with b or x suffix, temporary, the usual manipulation of numbers and data to appear to meet goals.
