Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Fresh 1 gets Fresh 2 pay.

I guess I'll start hiding in offices playing games on my phone, call off to buy a new dog, roll back attendance points for my associates, look the other way when my associates have dozens of meal exceptions, not bother adhering to block scheduling. Damn I gotta get an office and one of them plush leather chairs. If I start making these moves now maybe next year I can get promoted and 'earn' me a big fat raise too!

I can honestly say I am glad I don’t work there anymore! I’ve never seen so much drama, laziness, non-communicating, on the clock Seducing in all my life, nor have I ever seen management (or wanna be managers) walk around a building absolutely doing nothing all day! It was actually nice seeing a new store manager come in for a short time and put some authority back into the place! Kudos to the few, far and between hard working employees that are left in the club. Management should start making examples of you all and showing graditude to those for going into a place like that on a day to day basis because your the ones that make that place operate!

So I am here the head SOB calling out these people s06407 that take pto days and then not recording it. Sending gas station employees home leaving gas station unmanned to go watch your Vikings play. Treating your team and coworkers like sh–. Fresh 1 managers opening club to hide in offices because you think your better and dont need a forklift license. But this does fall on the fact the club manager won't hold him accountable to have a lift license if you get a raise to be a manager and a coach you also should have to take on all aspects of coaching. Dont be a lazy waste of company space. Funny thing is and I hope that corporate reads this we have called you and the hotline multiple times on theses people and guess what nothing changes except let's give them a raise way to go. I really take this back frontend manager does care ONLY about one person this is the same person that she has had red books on with multiple times and has been talked to multiple times by club manager. Then nothing happens other then she gets to take it out on us the frontend for her have out of work relationship this said cashier. As for fresh 1 I have gone to the zoo and seen chimpanzees have better work ethics then him. If the club manager was smart she would go get one of them to work for her and then she could go pay him with improper air stacked bananas. For the floor managers yes they are straight to the point but at least you know what you are getting and they are not giving you bs. For fresh 2 well I dont have the time for that. Really what all the old managers back that actually give a c-ap.

Have you looked in the mirror today? You want to talk about Sam Walton and his three basic beliefs. In the next breath you're going to talk about narcissistic peanut gallery comments. Just your thoughts on the issue? Corrupt politicians with overstayed welcome? I guess my question is have you left it all on the table every day that you work? Went above and beyond daily? People who live in Glass houses should not throw stones. Yeah sometimes the truth hurts. But of course anybody can talk trash on an anonymous site. Next time you're going to post drop your name in.

One thing I have noticed since this block scheduling has rolled out, is that these “unskilled” fresh associates are constantly being pulled from their areas to dig these “over qualified” merch managers and their associates out of the hole. Fresh associates staying late as forklift drivers, stockers and to aid in recovery, yeah they seem pretty useless to me. Maybe if these managers spent more time trying to fix the issues within their own areas, instead of degrading the areas that are continuously coming to their aid, the club would operate more cohesively. Instead, they would much rather make narcissistic peanut gallery comments and boast how those follow the “Sam Walton” way are raked thru the dirt. Maybe these managers need to Refamiliarize themselves with Sam’s three basic beliefs. The idea of servant leadership has fallen by the wayside thru the years, and now, much like the corrupt politicians who have outstayed their welcome, these managers would rather manipulate situations to their own benefit, instead helping the company progress in the right direction. just my thoughts on the issue.

I am pretty sure that in writing all management is suppose to be forklift certified yet there is one that refuses to be certified yet we give him a raise. Great job team for picking up the rest of the slack l. While he plays d and d it pokemon go on his phone maybe that's why he walks around and is never in his area. Or the fact that frontend manager manages from the office and just bosses the frontend leads around like slaves even though we have and understand more of the day to day business then she does she doesn't even know where to find her fast score at even though it's a app on her phone.

Long lunch probably because the merchandising
MANAGERS are constantly covering the the store from all the fresh leads fake PTO days and leaving for nice weather or buying a puppy. Not real reasons to act like a team player and make sure the other person is taken care of before you leave.

It’s almost as bad as merchandising managers that show up consistently late to work, spend hours on his phone, non work related, takes additional breaks, excessively long lunches on a regular basis. Doesn’t staff the sales floor, doesn’t train the new associates or newer leads, yet we wonder why we can’t keep it staffed. Avoids working at all cost so that the other merchandising manager gets stuck picking up the slack. The list goes on and on. At the end of the day, who cares, clearly it is irrelevant. You want to fix the issues, start working as teams and stop sabotaging each other. And always remember, whenever one points a finger, they have 3 fingers pointing back at themselves.

Over the years I have been at Sam's club the managers that try to better the club the sam Walton way and follow the standard and the company are always the ones dragged in the dirt that's the 6407 way. That's right the managers that hold accountability are punished more then the ones that cant seem to get there heads out there a– not to mention have been there for 10 plus years and still dont know how to properly lock a door at night.

It’s actually pretty simple, if fresh is where all the money is at then go to fresh. I don’t understand why anyone will stay as a merch, there’s little to any advancement. In fresh, you learn merchandising and production. With that knowledge you can be a lead anywhere in the building and become a fresh manager.

Let's pay the managers that do the least, the most money! Sounds about right... And we wonder why this company is on a downward spiral

Not to mention let's pay the fresh manager more money and they cant even pass simple health code violations. More violations in bakery then the king of ribs guy infront of lowes. That's not to mention the team leads have to do fresh managers jobs while he sits on his phone playing games or following strange women around on the floor.

@Fresh areas are skilled and trained haha.
There are no positions in the club that require a college degree, just common sense and being shown the motions.

Skilled and trained. Now that is comical. Skilled at excuses and trained by vine. I would agree that a cake decorator is skilled, baker no, we bake frozen bread, packer no skill required. Meat cutter, if you can cut a canteloupe without losing a digit or ever took shop class, yes even an unskilled person can skillfully cut the precut whole cuts of pork, beef and lamb. It's not like they are breaking down carcasses start to finish. HMS no, you put together kits, kinda like legos, cafe no skill required, produce no skill required. Funny how when fresh is in the ditch all we have to do is send an unskilled cashier or merchandiser in to fix it. Our skilled fresh team continues to plummet deeper and deeper in the red faster than a teenager with a credit card. It's steadily declined in the past few years. Its funny how the company continues manipulating categories in those areas to justify whatever agenda they have. Atleast for our club If freezer cooler wasnt part of fresh it wouldnt make a dime.

The front end just like fresh is not a skilled position but the fact remains it's faster paced constant work. They cant take it easy cant take a break when they want to, they work from schedule start time to schedule end time. Every member goes through the front end, not every member shops fresh. They are responsible to generate more profit than any other area in the club. They are reprimanded daily for plus credit and renewal numbers all the while working as quickly as possible to achieve the required fast score. Meanwhile an opening or two happens in fresh, the fresh manager dangles $15 an hour in front of that unskilled cashier and it's like a Houdini act, that cashier is off the front end schedule and on the fresh schedule before the front end manager know what hit 'em.

So the moral of the story -
Poor sale's, profit and mx scores = increased payroll budget, less responsibility and fat happy raises.

Thanks for carrying our club fresh!

The only reason our front end needs help is they don’t staff themselves correctly, they mess up the schedules and most the time the management isn’t playing an active roll. It’s not hard to scan an item and place in a basket.

However the fresh areas are skilled and trained.

Ask yourself why your front end is struggling.

Hold up. So the area in the clubs that always needs the most help (frontend) is losing a manager. Meanwhile the company gives ANOTHER raise to the fresh manager and the other managers as well.

Brilliant!
