I’m terribly sorry for those of you laid off. I haven’t been (yet), but I reported several instances of illegal behavior - and have faced ongoing humiliation and retaliation as a result. Despite outstanding performance on all objective criteria for our goals this year, I ended up with a very poor performance rating, no raise, and no bonus. There were many other punishments I received as well for speaking up and doing the right thing on behalf of our members.
I can’t imagine I’m alone. I contacted the me too movement hoping others here with join me. They have a “Tell your Story” link. If you’ve witnessed illegal or unethical behavior- retaliation, humiliation or threats- let’s get our stories out there. https://metoomvmt.org/contact/
While the me too movement serves a much needed purpose, we are victims of a common thread- people in high places, violating laws, throwing people under the bus and making outrageous lies to get ahead in an organization that pits employees against other employees to serve selfish needs.
Maybe they can help us. I don’t believe Washington will- insurance companies are likely funding their campaigns.
Every day I think about the thousands that were laid off. I wish you all well and hope you land in a respectable organization quickly!
