Impact on hourly workers - Virus Outbreak

Guys, not fear mongering, I am sure it's coming (see the CDC things below)...

Most of us are hourly, this will be bad.

Here is what the CDC said today (bullets below)...

If they close schools, I cannot work (single with kids).

I have no savings.

Pray = Yes / Hope = Yes

But it's not looking good either way I cut it.

What do you think?

CDC Quotes:

  • “Ultimately, we expect we will see community spread in this country. It’s not so much a question of if this will happen anymore, but rather more a question of exactly when this will happen and how many people in this country will have severe illness.”
  • She suggested, among other things, that parents ask their local schools what their plan is for closures and if they have any plans to conduct teleschool, and that workers ask their companies if telecommuting is an option.
  • “Now is the time for businesses, hospitals, communities, schools, and everyday people to begin preparing as well.”

What are your thoughts on this today? Are you guys starting to pay attention now?? As of Saturday night there was only 1 new case in the US. As of Sunday night it jumped to 13. If you don't prepare today you'll be too late. Yesterday my local Walmart was sold out of pain k–lers, hand sanitizer, most of the soap and so on. Sure they can restock, but there won't be enough for the whole country to keep restocking. Get your supplies now. Just trying to help you guys.

Those that don't think they have to be aware and pay attention have their heads buried in the sand. 2 cases were just confirmed in Mexico. It will spread quickly there, and will spill over to us shortly. There will be school closures, and more quarantines here. Time to wake up. Wether it ends up being serious or not, everyone is going to panic and our normal lives will be affected. Work and personal.

Yes she does have to consider this, who else is going to take care of her children if they get the virus or school close.

I have another 'take' on this subject. When has the LSM (Lame Stream Media) had our best interests in mind? Never. They are for profit organizations and will have stories that attract their 'specialized' audience for the bottom line. So, yes, some fear mongering is in there.

On the flip side, and hypothetically, let's say the government was aware of a planet k–ler asteroid on a direct course to hit Earth? Would they tell us? Why or why not? They wouldn't as wrong as that would be IMHO. Who would want to be slaving away at their jobs whether it is at Walmart, Sam's or wherever rather then spending their last weeks/moments with friends and family?

Imagine the panic, the anarchy and the collapse of society and the economy if this was announced. Not to mention the impact to companies bottom line when people stopped showing up for work and theft became the norm for those last few weeks.

Taking that into consideration. I would not trust our government to tell us the truth. 'Rome' could be burning and the government would be lying to us saying that everything is under control with nothing to worry about.

There are 7.7 billion people in the world only 81,000 have the coronavirus I would have to agree with the media fear mongering the H1n1 outbreak in 2009 or the swine flu k–led over 18,000 people and they talked about it for 5 years when you consider that there are 17 million people diagnosed with cancer every year you are more likely to be affected by something else than the coronavirus

What some of you are not getting is that this virus is just now getting started. I would not say it's panic time, but I would say to stay alert. All these other types of flu have not shut down shipments and things like it has now. It is absolutely something to plan for in the back of your mind and pay attention.

This year in the US alone 29 million people had the flu 16,000 died Worldwide 81,000 cases of the coronavirus 2,765 deaths i am not saying this can't get bad there is alot of fearmongering in the media they do this every year the Bird flu,SARS,west Nile virus everyday 3,287 people are k–led in car accidents you are more likely to be k–led driving than by the coronavirus.
