Thread regarding Ford layoffs

If you took the lump sum in recent years...

Are you starting to pucker a little?

How much of that nest egg have you lost so far?

Your wrong. Took lump sum. Invested in Vanguard fund. Doubled money. Went to cash prior to virus deal....agree with previous poster. You could use an education on investment advice, or hire yourself a good adviser.

Sound like you don't know much about thoughtful and long term retirement planning.

I'd worry more if I had taken the Ford pension!

Pucker? Why I am sure folks may be concerned. That being said it's been easy peasy managing that lump sum portion - or should I say a portion of the lump sum - on a consistent 3 year window rolling strategy with a mix of treasuries and CDs. The other portion - let her roll. After all it's long term.

Boy has it paid off.

Now back to my nap :)

No panic here. Plan for 6 bad years from stock market high, to 50% loss, and clawing it’s way back to the old highs. Keep that 6 years of cash flow in cash or treasuries.
