Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

You'd think that Conora virus would be a selling point for Cisco's Webex

Here we go. Cisco dropping the ball once again. If the Conora virus is an actual problem, which is dubious, Cisco would be touting remote collaboration solutions. Which something they actually do well due to webex.

The coronavirus is impacting all companies that have manufacturing in China. How come only Cisco is doing the layoffs? Apple has not done layoffs or announced them yet. Why only Cisco?

Because these layoffs have nothing to do with CV-19. Those are to come.

Webex is buried with Cisco stuff that the investor doesn't want. If it were by itself, it'd be rocketing like Zoom has these last days.

At the end of the day the bulk of Cisco's revenue is still generated from selling hardware. If the factories in Asia are shuttered there will be a significant problem shipping product. It's not just the factories turning out Cisco routers/switches, but also the factories that make the discrete components used to manufacture them.

I worked recently with the broadsoft (now cisco) people and those are some salty folks. None are happy about their new Cisco overlords or the changes that have already happened over the course of last year.
