Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Details on Severance Package

Several have posted about the current severance package, thank you. Am looking for some additional details from anyone who has been–very sadly!!-impacted thus far: 30 days to look for new position within Cisco? What is the payout length? Is it take into account years of service? Healthcare coverage for how long? Any other insights. Thank you!!

BTW if you're interviewing internally the hiring manager can extend your employment for up to 4 weeks -in addition to the 4 weeks you got to find a job- while they interview others but stay interested in you as an option.

If you plan on staying in Cisco, network a lot internally and have a network. As a rule it is really hard to find a job within Cisco in 4 or even 8 weeks unless the people know you and respect you. Cisco really doesn't mean you to stay. If you get hit by an LR, the potential hiring manager must really want you. Just know that.

I applied for a job last Tuesday GR11 role in CX. Got an phone interview yesterday and the hiring manager wants me to come in for a face interview next week. I got LR'ed 2 years ago after 14yrs of service.

Hey, you may also want to make sure the hiring manager is still with the company. Yes, it happened to me, Pursued an internal role, starting going down a positive path, and suddenly, hiring manager is gone. Totally. Beware!

Agree, don't waste time on the internal req's unless completely funded, even THEN it will take HR over 30 days just to answer your phone call. Make sure the job is actually available.

It appears there is a difference between grade 13/14 layoff package than the grade 12 (or below package), not sure what it is? I heard it is much longer waiting period for end of date and also much more vesting period..

HR used to put an S in job listings without funding. Thousands of people would waste time applying to fake jobs.

The stealth hiring freeze was in place for many positions months before the LR. Never seen a company that advertises so many unavailable "fake" jobs before.

It's like a recruitment fraud scam on a corporate-wide level.

love it when companies say "30 days to look for new position within ....". I wonder what is Recruiting for??? So you're told to find something. "We won't tell you which departments were affected. And in spite of the layoffs, the internal job board is still full of reqs (that are now frozen b/c of the layoffs)."
